Challenger World, ready! Contenders, ready!
With just under 2 weeks to go until the BG Energy Challenge 2008 – UK event, we’re putting the final touches to what looks set to be a cracking course in some truly stunning settings in Devon (and, indeed, Cornwall!). At the same time, I hope you’re putting your final plans together for your own logistics, are fighting fit and are mentally preparing for the event.
Mental preparation is really important. Your frame of mind before, during and after each of the stages in the event will determine how your team approaches each task and how you deal with the problems that will (undoubtedly!) arise. The winning team will be one with a positive team spirit that has the flexibility to adapt to the situations they find themselves in, a team that rallies together when the going gets tough instead of apportioning blame and a team that quickly puts errors behind them and, crucially, learns from those errors to improve their performance.
Admin preparation is also important! On that note, please remember to bring signed a Medical Waiver form (with all team members having read the T&Cs!) and completed Emergency Details forms to Registration with you. Please also remember to bring any medication with you that you might need (e.g. inhalers). We’d hate you to miss out on the action due to feeling unwell.
So that’s it from me until your first Team Captains’ Briefing at the event, where I’ll reveal all the details of the challenges that await you.
See you in Plymouth (and here’s hoping for some good weather!)…
Amy
