Getting fit

As a guide, competitors should feel comfortable trekking up to 10 km in a mountainous environment with a lightly loaded rucksack. Competitors should be able to swim but do not need to be strong swimmers.

See the 6 week introduction training program (PDF) which will get you to a level of fitness to enable you to really enjoy the event.

If you have any concerns about your health or any illness or injury, you should consult with your doctor or qualified health practitioner before embarking on any fitness activities.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

The safety of participants is of paramount concern.  All event stages are manned and first aid is available.

A doctor, massage therapist and a fully equipped medical tent will be available during the event.

Full risk assessments have been carried out for the event and are available on request.

At registration, participants will be given a full safety manual covering all the information you might need to know for the event.
