The inaugural BG Energy Challenge 2008 - India took place at Garud Maachi, Western Ghats, 14 - 16 March 2008. Nineteen teams from across the energy industry participated in a series of mental, physical and strategic challenges over one and a half days.

Teams pledged a total of 78,00,000 Indian Rupees (£97,500) for the events two nominated cancer charities, Cancer Patients' Aid Association (CPAA) and Women's Cancer Initiative - Tata Memorial Hospital (WCI).
