Anyone involved in energy or with an interest in energy is welcome to become a member of the EI, with the option to progress to a professional grade of membership through demonstration of professional skills, knowledge and experience within the energy industry. Delivering good practice and professionalism, the EI is a licensed body of the Engineering Council (UK), Society for the Environment and Science Council to award Chartered Engineer, Chartered Environmentalist and Chartered Scientist status.
The EI offers a portfolio of training courses and events designed to provide learning opportunities for everyone, at all stages of their career, to support, maintain and enhance their competencies and skills. The EI also accredits energy courses, both academic and vocational, as well as in-house training and development programmes.
