The BG Energy Challenge – Trinidad & Tobago is set for Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th May. This physical cross-country event seeks to raise funds for charities; namely United Way Trinidad and Tobago and the Foundation for the Enhancement and Enrichment of Life (FEEL).
The BG Energy Challenge is the team building event for the energy industry and wider corporate sector and in the six years that BG Trinidad & Tobago has held this event, it has raised over TT$7 million for the above organisations, which have in turn assisted charitable groups and individuals throughout Trinidad and Tobago.
The BG Energy Challenge – Trinidad & Tobago is part of the BG Group global Energy Challenge series. Events are an exciting mix of competition, ingenuity, skill and commitment, which test participants’ communication, team working and leadership skills whilst raising vital funds for charity.
For the second time, a social dimension will be incorporated into the activities where teams will physically contribute towards community-based projects.
2008 Highlights
Thirty-five teams crossed the line at the BG Energy Challenge - 2008 on the afternoon of Sunday 18th May. The 2008 event started in Tobago and the closing ceremony was held under the trees in the Samaan Park at Chaguaramas with the announcement that the total funds raised was TT$1.2million.
Winning the Challenge Trophy as well as the prize for most funds raised was the bpTT team and taking the prize for the best team spirit was the FT Farfan team.
