Fundraising

Your team will be required to raise money through sponsorship, raffles, sales or any ingenious way your team can think of. Once the registration fee has been paid, all additional monies will be distributed to charities through FEEL and United Way. The team who raises the most money will be awarded a trophy.

Each team is responsible for raising money above the initial entrance costs (which pays for the event management) before they take part in the challenge. The raising of money is a key part of the event as each team will need to work hard to come up with a strategy in order to win the trophy for the highest contribution. On the day of the event each team will pledge the amount of money they expect to contribute through the various initiatives they have undertaken and the team who pledges the most money wins the trophy.

A good way to get a head start is to get your company to pay your entrance fee. That way anything you manage to raise goes directly into your charity pledge!

Fund Raising Ideas
Here are some suggestions on how your team can raise money:

  • Letters to suppliers and clients
  • Sponsorship
  • Matched funds from employer
  • A company raffle
  • Dress down day at work
  • Car wash
  • Fetes
  • Cake sales

Raising money is as much a challenge as the event itself, so make sure that those not taking part support you by helping you to fundraise.

Distributions
Funds raised from the BG Energy Challenge - Trinidad & Tobago are donated to the charities FEEL (The Foundation for the Enhancement and Enrichment of Life) and United Way. Funds are then distributed to the various NGO's throughout Trinidad and Tobago.
