Funds raised during the BG Energy Challenge 2010- Egypt were dedicated to support CARE Egypt’s Women Rights Program in several governorates.
The funds were allocated to assist CARE in working with 570 Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) benefiting over 10,000 women to become financial self-sufficient using saving methodologies.
The funds were also allocated to raise awareness among more than 60,000 women and 45,000 men on domestic violence issues and held premarital education classes for young people, in the governorates; Minia, Assuit, and Sohag.
